Frances Stutz was a Ziegfeld Follies showgirl who tragically committed suicide at age 26
She was born on April 12, 1915 in Bronx, New York. Her father, Rudolph Stutz, was a fireman. When she was a teenager she won numerous beaty contests including Miss Bronx and Miss Cascades. The beautiful blonde joined the Ziegfeld Follies in 1932. Then she appeared on Broadway Hold Your Horses and Music Hath Charms. Frances also had a bit part in the 1933 film Moonlight And Pretzels. She started dating violinist David Rubinoff. The couple broke up in 1935 after a four year romance. In 1938 she impulsively eloped with singer George Herndon after a four hour courtship. Soon after she had the marriage annulled. Frances reunited with David Rubinoff who she called her “only true, real love”. Unfortunately the couple broke up again.
