Whew! The internet has exploded with reactions after news dropped that LeBron James would be stepping away from the Los Angeles Lakers for “personal reasons.”
On Thursday, December 12, Lakers head coach J.J. Redick announced LeBron’s absence was due to “personal reasons.” The last time the power forward hit the court was on Dec. 6, for the Lakers game against the Atlanta Hawks. However, fans became concerned when LeBron didn’t show up for the team’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 8, but it turned out he was dealing with soreness in his left foot, per ESPN.
Fox News reports that Coach Redick shared that LeBron feels “gassed,” and the team thinks they’re overworking him in the 22nd season. Redick added that LeBron has even asked to sit out a few games to catch a longer breather. However, he reassured everyone that LeBron’s absence is “excused.”
Although Redick confirmed the NBA superstar’s status, social media started going OFF after he didn’t make an appearance at the Dec. 13 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, leading folks to side-eye the situation and cook up their own conspiracies.
The Roommates jumped into the convo about LeBron James’ absence, adding their takes in The Shade Room’s comment section. Some folks tried to piece together what’s going on with the NBA baller, while others said this time-off. A few even sent good vibes, hoping everything’s cool on his end.
