Space Plug Sci-Fi Short Film

This is the kind of super strange, clever sci-fi cinema we can always use more of nowadays. Space Plug is a fascinating, weird, funny little short film presented in B&W by UK filmmaker Marcus Anthony Thomas. It was made as part of a Disney Imagine UK scheme in partnership with the NFTS in London. Now available online to watch if you’re curious – and it’s only 14 minutes long. Every sci-fi nerd needs to watch this just to see something super creative and original. “A baby human is raised in a stimulant free room that looks out into the vastness of space, and more specifically at a big white, blackhole that sucks in stars like a plughole. A Space Plug. With only fluid-filled beings providing them sustenance and company, the human grows to become increasingly restricted by their surroundings and so sets about looking for a way out. Searching for a life in the infinite beyond… in the Space Plug.” This is way more wacky and weird than expected, with the flabby alien things being especially insane. It’s about this kid having “everything that they need but nothing they want.” With Anthony J Abraham, Iniki Mariano, Benjamin Atori, and Michael Fianko. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›
