Sci-fi movies mostly rely on fake science to entertain moviegoers. Understandably, scientists don’t always agree with whatever is going on the screen. But accuracy is never something for filmmakers to worry about. So long as audiences are happy, Hollywood is happy. Real science can be boring too, hence the weirder the concept, the better. The same cannot be said for historical movies, where accuracy is highly valued.
