Chris McKay’s 2021 sci-fi action film The Tomorrow War was released under unexpected circumstances. Initially meant for a wide theatrical release by Paramount Pictures, the movie was subsequently sold by the distributor to Amazon Studios, as the post-pandemic release didn’t seem viable at the time. Because of this, The Tomorrow War was one of the most expensive films to debut on streaming, receiving mixed critical reviews. A sequel was announced in 2022, though not much has been heard outside of that news until now.
