In the new series from creator Steven Knight, A Thousand Blows, viewers are taken from the Birmingham-set Peaky Blinders to the East End of London in the 1880s to examine the world of bare-knuckle boxing. The grittiness and drama are still there, as is the division between the upper and lower class, but with that being said, A Thousand Blows has something Peaky never did: Disney money. It’s that extra infusion of cash that Knight says allowed him to create something even bigger, which he’s hoping will translate to the small screen.
