Opioid Crisis Series ‘Long Bright River’ Trailer with Amanda Seyfried

“You gotta let it go…” “I’ll let it go when I find her.” Peacock has unveiled an official trailer for a streaming series titled Long Bright River, an opioid crisis thriller set in Philadelphia. It will be streaming in March for anyone interested in watching. Amanda Seyfried stars in this series as a Philadelphia police officer who searches for her sister, an addict who has gone missing. Adapted from Liz Moore’s novel of the same name. When a series of murders begins in her own neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case. Showrunner Nikki Toscano adds: “perhaps what drew me in the most was the possibility of what this show could achieve in its ambition to upend stereotypes: of those born into poverty & addiction, of those engaging in sex work, of those who have been written off or marginalized after they’ve seemingly fallen through the cracks of their community, and finally, of those engaged in police work. In fact, what makes LBR so unique as a series is that it aims to deconstruct the ‘police as savior‘ narrative — a journey pulled through our protagonist, Mickey Fitzpatrick.” Also starring Nicholas Pinnock, Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson, and John Doman, with Dash Mihok and Britne Oldford.
