The Academy Awards have made the Wickedchoice: to confirm that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will perform at the 2025 Oscars telecast. Because let’s face it, it wouldn’t be pop-u-lar if they didn’t! (Sorry, our Broadway nerd is showing.) Given that the musical adaptation has been far and away the biggest hit of the year, it would be foolish and shocking if the movie’s two stars didn’t perform a song or medley. But with the earlier news that none of the songs nominated in the Best Original Song category would be performed in lieu of a tribute to Los Angeles after the wildfires, some wondered if they would be cutting all performances (for good).
