While many were excited to see the titular heroes, played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman respectively, finally join the MCU in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, the breakout star of the film was arguably Channing Tatum‘s Gambit. The character was finally given the live-action treatment he deserved in the blockbuster hit, with Tatum also fulfilling his own childhood dream of playing the character on the big screen. Most Marvel fans know that the actor was previously in talks to star as Gambit in his own standalonemovie, which would have been set in Fox’s X-Men universe. But, no one really knew what the movie would actually have been about… until now.
