Nova is a character fans have been waiting to see join the Marvel Cinematic Universe since at least 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which introduced the Nova Corps. The most famous member of the Nova Corps is Richard Rider, created by writer Marv Wolfman and drawn by John Buscema. Introduced in The Man Called Nova #1 (Sept. 1976), Richard Rider was a teenage superhero modeled after Peter Parker / Spider-Man, but with a more cosmic edge. After the inciting incident of Nova’s origin—the attack on Xandar by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War—it felt like only a matter of time before Nova got his own MCU project.
